The Thrilling Life™:
Tiny Thrills; Big Resilience

A great fit for healthcare, nonprofits, and other high-pressure workplaces

Overview

The day resilience stopped working for Laura Zam was the day her husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She quickly realized grit alone wouldn’t save her family.

Laura grew up the daughter of an Auschwitz survivor and believed resilience meant superhuman will. Then life unraveled—her husband’s cancer, a brutal recovery, and years of collapse that followed. White-knuckling not only failed; it became its own kind of brutality. She returned to her mother’s survival story—finding elements she’d missed—and drew on decades of work with trauma survivors determined to not just survive, but thrive.

What she discovered changed everything. Resilience isn’t built by willpower; it’s built by small moments of delight—tiny thrills that re‑regulate the nervous system and unlock our deepest reserves, right in the middle of the mess.

From that insight came The Thrilling Life™ Method, now used by organizations all over the U.S. to reduce burnout, sharpen decision‑making, and build everyday steadiness—without adding to anyone’s workload.

Engagement Style

Each session reflects Laura's decades as an Off-Broadway performer as well as being an award-winning educator. Expect lively storytelling, humor, and interactive exercises woven seamlessly with practical strategies. The atmosphere is fun, thought-provoking, and highly relevant—making deep insights and new skills stick, long after the program ends.

What Audiences Gain:

  1. Simple, science-backed techniques to turn ordinary moments—like coffee breaks—into direct pathways for reducing stress and boosting well-being.

  2. An enjoyable system that builds true resilience without adding tasks or demanding more grit.

  3. Practical tools to regain focus, clarity, and motivation in real time during high-pressure situations.

  4. Strategies that spark renewed energy and purpose, helping prevent burnout and drive steady, sustainable performance.

  5. An immediate sense of agency and confidence to stay balanced, resourceful, and internally strong—no matter what the day brings.

"I learned a great deal from Ms. Zam. Her storytelling, in particular, was quite effective. I didn’t know that becoming more resilient could be as simple as my morning latte. I’d love to learn more from this presenter."
